Santiago to Siete Tazas

Wicked Campervan Trip Options: Pickup & Dropoff in Santiago only

The magic is closer than you think! This Wicked Route will take you to the Radal 7 Tazas National Reserve and it’s only 200 kms from Santiago!!!!!!!! Yes!!! 200 kms and you get all the magic!! On this trip you’ll get chances of skiing, fishing, rafting, swimming on hot springs, horse riding and the unique opportunity to stay in one of the wonders of the central zone of Chile!

First, you can start by going to Chapa Verde, an amazing Ski Center near Rancagua, 82Km at the south of Santiago, one hour and 20 minutes driving, give or take. Open between May and September, It has 22 ski slopes, with an extention between 200 and 1400 meters. Here you can practice ski, trekking, snowboarding and photography. Keep going south and you’ll be at Los Cipreses National Reserve, where you can visit the Cauquenes Hotsprings center, located at the commune of Machalí. Chill out for a while before keep moving and go to Rio Los Cipreses National Reserve. To get inside the reserve you’ll probably need a horse or a mule. This is a hotspot to watch animals like the red fox or the cóndor; go fishing and see petroglyphs from arround 5000 years ago! You can also do some mountaneering and, depending on the time of the year, see a white snowed valley or a totally green landscape.

Your next stop is at Los Queñes, another place where to admire nature and chilean unique landscapes. You can spend some time here (there’s a camping with the same name and it’s a Wicked Friend!) before moving to Radal Siete Tazas (seven cups) National Reserve. There you can practice flyfishing, do some horseback riding and hiking to watch amazing waterfalls and the awesomeness of the eternal mixture between green and white of southern Chile.

And for the last, you can drive to Altos de Lircay National Reserve, A completely insane destiny and the last (if you have the time) to go to. Before getting there, you will pass through a town called Vilches, where you can camp, swim at the Lircay River and visit geological formations, like Tres Cuernos (Three Horns) and Cabeza del Indio (Indian’s head). If you go further away to the mountains, you will get to Altos del Lircay National Reserve, the biggest reserve of Maule Region which has (among other features) special places to watch mighty volcanoes and one of the hot spots from UFO Route in Chile!
